Economic empowerment of women in the two municipalities Date: 4/30/2015
Since April 2015, ANTIKO started implementing the project "Economic empowerment of women in the two municipalities", financially supported by the British Embassy in Macedonia. The main objective of the project is designing a model and piloting participatory, evidence based, approach in the creation of effective gender policies for economic empowerment of women. Project activities are implemented in the municipalities of Bitola and Kichevo, as multiethnic municipalities within rural and urban areas. The project will be implemented in the period 04.01.2015 - 03.31.2016.
Target groups of the project are relevant representatives of the local government units from the municipalities of Kichevo and Bitola and civil society organizations active in the field of women's and human rights and economic empowerment. In the implementation of part of the activities, unemployed women from the targeted municipalities will be included. The project, through the implementation of activities, contributes to the creation of gender sensitive policies and actions for increasing women's participation in the labor market locally and creating enabling environment for improving the unfavorable position of women in the labor market in the targeted municipalities. It is expected increase of the intersectoral cooperation of the relevant institutions in the feald and especially increasing the cooperation between the civil society organizations and local authorities in the creation and implementation of policies.
